Guiding Informed Decisions
A suite of customizable resources, created by and for patient advocates and organizations, to support patients and empower informed decision-making.

About the Adaptable Educational Resources Suite
Patient organizations and advocates play a crucial role in helping patients make informed decisions throughout their healthcare journey. To support these efforts, the FT3 community developed the Adaptable Educational Resources Suite, a collection of flexible materials designed to help patients navigate key aspects of their care. These resources provide guidance on asking the right questions during medical appointments, understanding biomarker testing and its role in diagnosis and treatment, and exploring targeted therapy options.
Designed to be tailored to different geographic contexts and disease areas, this suite ensures accessibility and relevance across diverse healthcare settings. We are now collaborating with partners to pilot these resources, gather insights, and ensure they meet specific local needs.

Co-Creating a Common Framework Based on Best Practices
Because the precision medicine landscape is fragmented. There is a lack of common understanding and standardization even for core issues, like the patient pathways or frequent needs for information.
Through the Patient Engagement Open Forum session, co-creation activities, and working group calls we have identified that a common framework is needed to help standardize how information needs are identified and addressed.
To reduce duplication of effort and time investment of the advocacy community, we co-creating this tool based on existing best practices.

Building on Best Practices Through Community Collaboration

FT3 contributors collaborated in the identification of good practices and learnings with the aim of making them replicable through practical and actionable tools and resources. By doing so, FT3 acts as a catalyst of best practices: we aggregate them and build on them through multi-stakeholder collaboration, and we make them available by reducing the burden of developing a new resource.
This is the result of the aggregation of resources originally developed by our friends LUNGevity, Lung Cancer Europe, the National Cancer Institute, and the Research Advocacy Network which emerged as good resources in terms of scientific credibility, patient centricity, plain language, and ease of use. We thank them for their good practice inspiration.
